The pharmacy domain is decades old. It was registered on October 18th, 1996, making it twenty-two years in 2022. It is expected to expire on November 17th, 2022, however, some changes occurred on the domain on June 10th, 2021. The nature of the update is unclear, but it clearly isn’t for a renewal.
The domain with decades of operation has no registrant information, being registered through a third party – Privacy Protect, LLC. With transparency a major factor today in trusting an online business, the online drugstore needs better ways to make up for its registrant’s anonymity.
The online pharmacy appears to have quite a convincing business profile, but things aren’t always as they seem. The online drugstore claims to have a physical clinic, Rockwood Clinic, which started operation in South Hill, Spokane, Washington, in 1997. In 2003, the physical clinic switched most of its business operations online, providing online pharmaceutical services to customers. In addition to Washington, it also claims operation in Idaho, with about 1,100 total employees. However, with its mention of a number of employees, there is no hint of its employee names or the owners. It could all be word as far as we are concerned.
In addition, the online drugstore conveniently left out how Rockwood Clinic, its “parent company”, was acquired by MultiCare Health System in 2017, currently known as MultiCare Rockwood Clinic. An acquisition should include the pharmacy website, rockwoodclinic.com, and be operated by the current owner unless the domain went rogue or got hijacked. Rather, the content of the old pharmacy website is being maintained, thus misleading customers – an untrustworthy and illegal act. This also includes the address on the pharmacy website, 400 E 5th Ave, Spokane, WA 99202, which is the same as one of MultiCare Rockwood centers.
It is expected of an online pharmacy with decades of operation to have regulatory approvals from recognized bodies. However, this isn’t the case with this online drugstore. The National Association of Board of Pharmacy (NABP) is yet to review the online pharmacy website, which makes one wonder.
Notwithstanding its NABP review absence, the online drugstore is reviewed by LegitScript, which isn’t favorable. It has a rogue rating, the least pharmacy classification. The rating defines the merchant’s involvement in illegal, misleading and scam acts. With all that has been discussed about the online pharmacy so far, this rating isn’t off the mark.
Products and Pricing
The online drugstore primarily deals in generic men’s need medications. The price ranges from $0.35 to $2.72 per pill, depending on the selected product.
After the selection of a product in the men’s need category, and clicking “start shopping now”, customers will be taken to a different page. It gets interesting here, as this page contains content from another website. On this page, there is a wide range of products different from those on the homepage, different company info, different contact details, etc. It appears like another website was merged as a page inside the pharmacy website. Unfortunately for the online pharmacy, the content of this new page is used by other scam websites, like the “about info”, telephone number, etc.
The online pharmacy makes use of the domain name and website to gain customers’ trust, which in reality isn’t what customers are interacting with. It is all just a facade to gain customers’ trust, a misleading act, while they engage in their illegal acts.
This includes credit cards, with the accepted types including:
- Diners Club
- Airmail: This option costs $10 and takes 30 days or less before delivery.
- Trackable Courier Service: This costs $30 and 5-9 business days or 14 days before delivery.
There are no customer reviews on the pharmacy website, rockwoodclinic.com. However, the medicine pages contain different information from the online pharmacy homepage, there are reviews. They are hundreds, all positive reviews about the products and services. However, they don’t look real and shouldn’t be trusted.
The online pharmacy might have started off as legit, but it’s currently a scam. The only explanation is that the domain was hijacked and is currently rogue. The online drugstore currently operates under false pretenses, with the intention to mislead and scam customers. Hence, it is deemed a scam online pharmacy and will be given a 0.9-star rating.
